Charm Bracelets for an Unbirthday

This post is nowhere near my birthday and will not be charming. Drink your tea and don't forget to move to the left or right, depending. Here is a song by Pogo to enjoy your unbirthday to:

It seems there are a lot of Alice in Wonderland choices when it comes to charm bracelets.

First there are Italian charm bracelet links like the Mad Tea Party links above. It looks like you can get different links (not just Alice), but yes including Alice in Wonderland links, and then swap them in and out of the charm bracelet.

Next up there are four different charm bracelet charms that are more like what I think of when I imagine a charm bracelet. They have the Queen of Hearts pictured above, White Rabbit, Alice herself, and Cheshire Cat. Strangely, the only way to get the Mad Hatter is to get the five in one bracelet.

Finally, for those who really want to go over the top, there is the "Ultimate Disney Classic Link Charm Bracelet".

There's Always More Alice. Happy Unbirthday.

There is so much Alice in Wonderland stuff going on that it's getting claustrophobic in here. I just discovered these comics by Tommy Kovac (Click to visit his site). The artwork is really cool, and of course, they're about my favorite topic!!! Picture links go to Amazon.

The 3rd one looks like a crazy machine at first, but then you look closer and it's the hookah-smoking Caterpillar, but he's become a butterfly. Kovac has also released other comics, including one that looks kind of cool called Autumn. Check here for Everything Tommy Kovac

Alice's Furniture and Manga

I stumbled across this page that has photos of a house from the Big Brother TV show that was decorated with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Looks like they were big into checkerboard patterns, paper lanterns and Bombe Furniture.

Here is a review for Alice 19th by Yu Watase, which is part of a series of Japanese manga comics which are Alice in Wonderland inspired. They appear to be aimed at girl otaku. Looks like you can get these books on Amazon. Check out Alice 19th.

Alice Fan Art and Disney's Cook "Ousted"

Amazing Disney fan art by Boy Wonder with some Alice in Wonderland scenes. A Tea Party and a Card Soldier painting the roses. I wasn't able to investigate very closely, but it looks like this is work for some kind of internet challenge - so maybe there's more by other people?

Disney studio head Dick Cook, who worked at Disney a stunning 38 years and started out as a tour operator, no longer works there. Most obvious fall-out - Pirates of the Caribbean.

Interesting make-up job: Mad Hatter.

Alice Costume Ideas for Halloween

If you are particularly crafty and wish to be Alice in Wonderland for Halloween, here are some items of interest:

Picture of a nice Alice costume. Although most people think light blue when they think Alice.

Here is a page with "Gothic Lolita Patterns". Items 3, 4 and 5 are the dress patterns we're interested in.

A page of cosplay costumes by Miyuki-chan.

For the not-so-crafty, here is a link to Alice costumes on Amazon. These range from the risque:

Alice goes Peaches. Peaches!

File this under "Alice Mania" which is my new term for how everyone is going Alice. Peaches Geldof, one of Bob Geldof's daughters, appears in an Alice in Wonderland themed fashion photo shoot in the October issue of the UK magazine, Company. More pictures here.

Find herein linked an offhandedly blistering review of Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Ouch. I'm posting it mostly because the information about Fairy Tales and author Roald Dahl is very interesting.

Getting Monday out of the Way Alice Concept Art

American McGee posted some photos of the model they're using for the Alice Returns game. (Via Superpunch) Which led me to this:

Amazing Alice in Wonderland Cheshire Cat concept art in American McGee's Flickr account.

In other news that's kind of old news, Johnny Depp showed up at the Disney D23 Expo dressed up as Captain Jack and announced that he's on board for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" due out in 2011.

Saturday is Fashion Day for Alice

I don't normally post on Saturdays, but due to the buzz surrounding Disney's D23 Expo, there has been a flurry of news lately.

First some fun Alice in Wonderland inspired art. We have here a re-enactment of when the croquet invitation is handed to the Duchess' Frog Footman by the Queen's Fish Footman.

A very nicely done baby room. Check out the murals. I especially like the Cheshire Cat in the upper left corner. June's Room.

Designed Whitney Eve says they are AiW inspired fashions but I just don't see it. Maybe somebody can tell me what exactly screams Wonderland here?

According to the Kerrang! website, Ville Valo, frontman for the band HIM, is penning a track for the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack. How exciting! I hadn't even thought about soundtracks yet (except Danny Elfman.)

The LA Times has more news and information from Disney's D23 Expo. Apparently, Burton corrected Disney exec Cook on two points and the Times is being all "Ooo. Snap!" about it. How dreadful.

There is more news no doubt, but I am late for a very important date.

Real Alice 2010 News Today

Dear Reader, I hate to complain to you, but it seems like REAL news about Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010 is rather scarce. And so it warms my ears and whiskers to tell you that there is an informative interview with Tim Burton here. Alice in Wonderland is discussed as well as the Mad Hatter and the (now infamous) trailer leak.

Also Alice in Wonderland photos from Disney's D23 Expo are coming in!!! Click here for: photos of props, photos of posters, and more props.

Finally, very old but still fun Anne Hathaway photos from W magazine and a brief bio here.

What is Thursday without some Alice

A site named The Neverending Shelf has declared October 7 through 14 "Alice in Wonderland week" and no doubt has plans for celebrating properly.

The SciFi Wire has information about SyFy's Alice in Wonderland adaptation which is due in December. Specifically, it has some quotes from Matt Frewer, who plays the White Knight.

Another blog post about how to throw an Alice in Wonderland party. Some good Alice Party items:

Also Paper lanterns!

No real Alice on Wednesday either

Instead we have lots and lots of Helena Bonham Carter News.

Helena Bonham Carter Poetry Contest!

After months of rumors, it looks like Helena Bonham Carter is pregnant. Or so claims this website.

More Harry Potter cross-over.

Tuesday not Alice but Mickey Mouse

What! No Alice in Wonderland instead only Micky Mouse and friends in Wonderland released on DVD and reviewed here. Looks like it's for the younger set...

More Mia Wasikowska photos than you can shake a stick at here.

It's making me scratch my head: All the gossip sites are reporting that Kurt Cobain's teenage daughter, Francis Bean Cobain turned down the role of Alice in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010. Reason stated: "Because she's going to college." Maybe they should add "Not an actress" to that?

Alice in Wonderland cosplay photos here.

There is No News this Friday

Alice is the New Black:

Disney has formally announced merchandising plans for Alice in Wonderland-inspired jewelry and fashions. See article here.

Here is some news about the Tom Binns Alice in Wonderland jewelry line...

The Helena Bonham Carter fansite is hosting a look-alike contest so break out your costumes and submit a photo. But you don't look like Helena Bonham Carter? No sweat. They're also accepting look-alike entries of other Alice in Wonderland characters.

Here is an interview with British comedian Matt Lucas, who will be playing Tweedledee and Tweedledum in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010.

I'm not sure who this is but they have Alice in Wonderland stamps of the Sir John Tenniel sort.

A nice sketch of Alice about to meet the Queen of Hearts.

And Now a Break from Our Alice

Is anybody else here excited about the movie coming out next week, 9? I'm planning to see it on the opening night. I can justify drooling over it on this Alice in Wonderland 2010 blog because Tim Burton produced it. Although, the way he put it was that he did everything he could to make it so the director could make the film in peace. Here is some 9 News. Here is the official site.

OK Back to Alice. Here are some more Alice-inspired fashions.

Alice Decor: Cool Alice Clock!

This Alice in Wonderland clock is so cool, I'm devoting an entire post to it, and only it. There will be tea cakes served after. Please move two seats to the left, or right, depending.

The cards whirl around as the time changes. Besides all that, it has a SNOOZE BUTTON. How can one go wrong?

Halloween is Coming

I can hear your groans. "No!" You say. "It is just September!!!" To that I reply, "Don't blame me! These other people are already thinking about costumes. I am your kind messenger." Yes indeed. Here are some instructions on Alice in Wonderland Halloween costumes.

In news related to Tim Burton's Alice 2010, Helena Bonham Carter has been nominated for Best Villain in the 2009 Scream Awards. She was nominated (along with many of her co-stars) for her part in the last Harry Potter movie, in which she plays Bellatrix Lestrange. You can go vote at the Scream Awards link above. Voting closes October 17. Here is everything Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Amazon.

Finally, Fangoria online has a review for a trashy Alice in Wonderland comic book. It's a part of a series of wonderland comics by Raven Gregory.

Monday is Malice instead of Alice

Another film due in 2009 instead of "The Year of Alice", which we all know is 2010. I just found out about Malice in Wonderland a.k.a. Malice in Sunderland. This movie is in post-production according to IMDB. See below for an interesting preview featuring music from Prodigy's Firestarter.

Here Alice (Maggie Grace) suffers amnesia after being hit by a taxi cab and falls into another world - this one being the dark underworld of gangsters and crooks in England.

A quickie: Alice in Wonderland themed accessories. In this case a belt.
