Ton of New Concept Art for Alice

Finally got my hands on some really huge copies of Alice in Wonderland concept art, production art, and film stills, among other things. I'll be posting these over the next week or so because there is a lot of it. What we have here is Cheshire Cat, the Knave of Hearts, the March Hare, a Mushroom Forest, the White Rabbit, and two concept sketches by Tim Burton. One of these is the Red Queen and is very similar to this piece of concept art we ran a long time ago. I don't know for sure about all of the rest, but a lot of these are by Michael Kutsche, who is really an amazing artist. The Cheshire Cat picture on the top, in particular would make a great desktop wallpaper. (Source: Disney)

New Wonderland Wednesday Video is up

As expected, a new "Wonderland Wednesday" trailer is up on the Disney official website. I've embedded the YouTube copy above. To get the original on Disney's website, you have to skip (or watch) the intro and then go to the video section. These are a little bitter-sweet because there really isn't any real new footage. We'll embed this as soon as it hits YouTube.

Happy Birthday Lewis Carroll

Happy birthday to Charles Lutwidge Dodgson who was born on this day, January 27, in 1832. Besides being a famous English author who went by the pen name Lewis Carroll, Dodgson was also a mathematician, a photographer, and an Anglican deacon. He is best known for his word play, nonsense stories and poems. He wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass. Here is a wikipedia page on Lewis Carroll. Dodgson died on the 14th of January, 1898.

Wonderland Wednesdays on You Tube

Wonderland Wednesdays on You Tube. Walt Disney Studios UK has a high quality version of the trailer with Johnny Depp commentary that was released last week PLUS it says that if you subscribe, you will receive announcements of new clips to be released every Wednesday. I looked for the same in the regular Disney You Tube channel, but it looks like either my You Tube browsing talents are not up snuff, or it's only on Disney' UK channel.

Also, there are a bunch of sites with new Alice in Wonderland images - mostly of production art - here and here.

3OH!3 Single from the Almost Alice Soundtrack

I don't usually post on weekends, but this here looks like a leak and so it seems to me that it might not be up for very long. It's the 3OH!3 track from Almost Alice, which you probably already know is the soundtrack album for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland featuring different bands. There is also a soundtrack which is the score by Danny Elfman. Both are available for pre-order. For Almost Alice click here. For the Score Soundtrack, click here.

I also usually post items like this without comment, but for anybody who forgets that Alice 2010 is a Disney movie, this track is quite the harsh reminder. Phew what a stinker of a pop song.

Urban Decay has announced a line of Alice in Wonderland makeup

We announced this in July of last year, but it's been in the news again lately so we feel the need to remind everyone that Disney announced that game versions of Alice in Wonderland will be coming to the Wii and DS game platforms.

There is also news that Tim Burton will be doing an alternative version of Sleeping Beauty titled Maleficent. The press has responded with lots of chatter and of course everyone expects the title role to be filled by - you guessed it - Helena Bonham Carter.

Things are Heating up for Alice

As March draws closer (it's only a month and a half away) more news items relating to Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland are appearing. This latest is a line of Alice-inspired clothing by designer Sue Wong. More info is available here at the Disney Blog.

Publisher Dynamite is releasing a hard cover graphic novel adaptation of Alice in Wonderland due out in February of 2010. Apparently this is an adaptation which tried to stay true to the original Lewis Carroll tale. It is available for pre-order on Amazon. Complete Alice In Wonderland Volume 1: Alice's Adventures

Hot Topic Merchandise for Alice

First Off: First Showing received a promotional package for the movie. I was wondering if Disney would do this for Tim Burton's Alice 2010, and here it is. Looks like the Dish Rag also got one.

Next, Pete Wentz and Mark Hoppus have announced that they contributed a track to the Soundtrack of the movie.

Also belonging in the topic of "I don't know how I missed this, exactly." is new (to me) merchandise from Hot Topic. They have: tote bags, micro raschel throws, key chains, t-shirts. necklaces, hats hair clips, v-neck tees, hoodies, earrings, belt buckles, key caps, pin sets, raglan tees, gloves, lockets, knee-high socks, rings, journals, scetchbooks, calendars, lunch boxes, and wallets.

Whew. That's a lot of things. Click here to check it out. Here are some of my favorites:

Another Trailer? Or is it

I'm not sure how, but it looks like I missed another trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. This one was posted two weeks ago and is introduced by Mia Wasikowska. It looks like the last trailer I posted, but has more footage of Alice, instead of being focused on the Hatter.
