Things are Heating up for Alice

As March draws closer (it's only a month and a half away) more news items relating to Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland are appearing. This latest is a line of Alice-inspired clothing by designer Sue Wong. More info is available here at the Disney Blog.

Publisher Dynamite is releasing a hard cover graphic novel adaptation of Alice in Wonderland due out in February of 2010. Apparently this is an adaptation which tried to stay true to the original Lewis Carroll tale. It is available for pre-order on Amazon. Complete Alice In Wonderland Volume 1: Alice's Adventures

Real Alice 2010 News Today

Dear Reader, I hate to complain to you, but it seems like REAL news about Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010 is rather scarce. And so it warms my ears and whiskers to tell you that there is an informative interview with Tim Burton here. Alice in Wonderland is discussed as well as the Mad Hatter and the (now infamous) trailer leak.

Also Alice in Wonderland photos from Disney's D23 Expo are coming in!!! Click here for: photos of props, photos of posters, and more props.

Finally, very old but still fun Anne Hathaway photos from W magazine and a brief bio here.

More Alice Papercrafts, Wallpapers, Wedding Dresses

First up, more Alice in Wonderland inspired papercrafts. The site CubeeCraft has released this one and plans to make one a week. Their first is an Alice papercraft. (Look here for a previous Alice in Wonderland papercraft.)

More Alice in Wonderland wallpapers. These were made from the photos released from Disney of the Red Queen, Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and Alice. The wallpapers were designed by Louie Mantia. Fullscreen, Widescreen, and iPhone sizes are available.

A really cool Alice-inspired Dodo charm necklace. Via

Interesting conversation on a gaming forum where someone says that the Disney film was originally going to be a movie version of the popular American McGee's Alice, until Tim Burton happened along.

Finally, a round-up of Alice in Wonderland inspired wedding dresses. Or something.

Alice in Wonderland Related News Items

OK OK these aren't about the Tim Burton movie, but this site is also about Alice in Wonderland independent of the 2010 movie. Here are some items:

Giant Solar Flowers with WiFi and places to plug in a laptop will be touring cities across the US to publicize the next generation of the Toyota Prius. They started in Boston. As one blog who covered it commented, the giant flowers make you feel like you're in Alice in Wonderland. This detail is just too juicy to leave out: The next Prius will have solar panels to ventilate the interior of the car when it's parked in the sun. How cool is that?

Next, inspired by Alice in Wonderland and fashions of the 1930s and 40s, an enterprising vintage fashion fan has created a dress she calls "The Alice Project." It looks really awesome!
