Extended Trailer for Alice in Wonderland 2010

Looks like there's a new trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (a.k.a. Alice 2010.) This comes our way via Spike. Supposedly there is new content, but all I've managed to identify as new is a profile view of Johnny Depp. It also appears that the order of things has been shuffled. Curiouser and Curiouser. Here it is!

Fun French Photo Shoot

Not much info about this photo shoot except that it was done in a famous French abbey near Paris, and it has to do with Alice in Wonderland (natch). I was just in Paris a few weeks ago and it was AMAZING.

Lots of New Alice Gear and Art

It's really amazing when I can report something relevant to the Tim Burton move, Alice 2010, and today I have something to report. Not that I'm excited. It's a little hard to get very excited about nail polish. A while back I reported here that Disney is working with designers and manufacturers to come out with a slew of Alice in Wonderland 2010 related products. It looks like the first of the bunch will be OPI nail polish. OPI Nail Polish on Amazon Via.

Not related to the Tim Burton film - well KIND OF not related. Seeing as how 2010 will be the year of Alice. Mezco is accepting pre-orders for some Living Dead Dolls In Wonderland toys. Click here for Mezco Toys on Amazon.

Much More Alice Than You Can Shake a Stick At

It's getting so you can't throw a rock without hitting something related to Alice in Wonderland, probably thanks in part to Alice 2010 and Tim Burton. Trendhunter Magazine has noticed this phenomenon and posted a list of "60 Alice in Wonderland Fantasies - From Surreal Fairytale Photography to Mini Mad Hatter Hats." Check it out here. Too bad it's so hard to navigate the site. It's like Tumblr but a million times more annoyingly hard to find your way to the original. I'm partial to the Steam Society crown fascinator pictured here. Such a cool photo!

To be honest, I don't know how this fits in with the theme of this site, but here it is: How to be Lucky.

John Coulthart's Psychedelic Alice Calendar

Artist and designer John Coulthart has created a very cool psychedelic Alice in Wonderland calendar. Unrelated but interesting: Coulthart's illustrations for H.P. Lovecraft stories in: The Haunter of the Dark: And Other Grotesque Visions.

Japanese Poster and Charm Bracelet

It's going to be nearly impossible to beat the Queen of Hearts and Alice costumes from yesterday, and I'm not going to try. At the same time, here are some cool things.

I'm probably the millionth site to post this, but here it is. The Japanese poster for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

Next up, a nice charm bracelet from Cherished Trinkets.

Mad Hatter Book Review and Anne Hathaway Interview

Here we have a review of the second Hatter M graphic novel. It took me a while to figure this out, but there is a trilogy of books by author Frank Beddor called the "Looking Glass Wars". As a spin-off from this trilogy, there are these Hatter M graphic novels.

Ann Hathaway talks about Alice in Wonderland.

New Papercrafts and Other Diversions

I'm back after a two week vacation in Europe. Did you miss me? I've been sifting through the last two weeks for tasty Alice in Wonderland news and there is plenty.

As could be expected, there are more Alice papercrafts. Woo Hoo! These papercraft Alice in Wonderland characters by Alex McMenemy are pretty cool!

Here is a fun page full of Etsy items.

Finally, an interview with Caterina Scorsone, the Syfy Channel's Alice.

Furniture Down the Rabbit Hole

More Alice in Wonderland inspired decor. I don't think I've seen much furniture that says Alice in Wonderland quite as much as these by Aqua Creations.

I'm especially enamored of the "Tut Chair", which is the more conventional grey chair with the graceful animal-like legs.

There aren't any places near me to buy them. Maybe I will drown my sorrows in an English Garden Bombe Chest.

Lots of Alice Art and Let's Play

There is enough Alice in Wonderland art at this site to keep anyone occupied for hours. There is the inevitable Sir John Tenniel, but in addition there is fan art, photography, art from American McGee's Alice, and some NSFW art as well. All the art is posted with links back to the source, which is really nice. Posted above is Pool Of Tears, by Erin Kelso (aka bluefooted).

You kind of have to scroll down a lot to get to them, but here are pictures of Alice in Wonderland figurines that are pretty cool. These can be bought on Amazon in a four-pack, here: Alice in Wonderland 4-Pack Trading Figures

Let's Play:
If you've ever been curious about American McGee's Alice, but aren't into video games, you can watch an expert gamer named L0rdVega play the entire thing on YouTube. It kind of feels like cheating, but there it is.

Friday is an Unbirthday

First up is an Etsy store which has some neat Alice in Wonderland prints, among other things.

If you're a real die-hard Disney fan, you might be interested in this article about the Blu-Ray DVD releases of Dumbo and Fantasia and how they've been juggled. At the very end is speculation on when Disney will be releasing both Alice 2010 and the 1951 versions on Blu-Ray. The author guesstimates that this might happen in August 2010. Apparently they call these Blu-Ray releases "Diamond Series".

Last, I just discovered this book called All Things Alice: The Wit, Wisdom, and Wonderland of Lewis Carroll. Inside are collected illustrations, quotes, recipes, letters, puzzles, games, and art all inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The author is Linda Sunshine, who also did All Things Oz.

More Alice Home Decor

If you're looking to decorate your room in all Alice in Wonderland gear, it's pretty hard to go wrong with this surprisingly complete collection of switch and outlet wall plates. Shown are Alice herself and the White Rabbit in a Disney-like forest scene. It's almost obsessive. You'll see what I mean when you get to the bottom.
