Interview with Matt Lucas and UK Box Office

The newest Disney Movie Previews episode, number 39, has lots of footage from the Alice in Wonderland World Premier in the UK.

Here is an interview with Matt Lucas, the British comedian who played Tweedledee and Tweedledum in Alice in Wonderland 2010.

Speaking of the UK and Alice 2010, the movie has broken box office records for 3D movies in the UK and Ireland.

Interview with Danny Elfman and Tweedles Dum and Dee

First, don't miss our giveaway of an Alice book, tote, and lithograph by one of my favorite artists, Camille Rose Garcia!

Seeing as how Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010 is coming out in a few weeks, we're getting new info every day. Sometimes several times a day.

Here's a fun "how they did it" article for the motion capture and CGI on the film (pictured above is British comedian Matt Lucas and his double.)

Here's an interview with Danny Elfman, the composer for the film, that I thought was very interesting.
No one can dispute the brilliance of the book. To put that on the screen? That would be really interesting, but it's hard to say what kind of movie it would make, you know, for an hour-and-a-half. So they came up with a concept: Alice is [almost] 20, and she's going to chase the rabbit down the hole and you're going to see all the same stuff, but you also hear these voices. "Is it her?" "It doesn't look like her." "I'm telling you it's her." And then she has to find out if it's a mistake, if she's the right Alice or not. She's been brought there for a purpose. But you still have all the same stuff [as far as imagery] with the Mad Hatter and the tea party and everything.

Final Piece of Tim Burton's Alice 2010 Poster

Disney has released the third and final piece of the Alice in Wonderland poster. This one with Johnny Depp (as the Mad Hatter) and Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar. I was reading somewhere that the movie is only four months away, which it is!

Disney also released an eye-strain-o-vision tiny version of the three posters stitched together. Of course, I got out my construction paper and scissors and did it up right. So, here it is, an Alice 2010 exclusive! The whole poster.

There is No News this Friday

Alice is the New Black:

Disney has formally announced merchandising plans for Alice in Wonderland-inspired jewelry and fashions. See article here.

Here is some news about the Tom Binns Alice in Wonderland jewelry line...

The Helena Bonham Carter fansite is hosting a look-alike contest so break out your costumes and submit a photo. But you don't look like Helena Bonham Carter? No sweat. They're also accepting look-alike entries of other Alice in Wonderland characters.

Here is an interview with British comedian Matt Lucas, who will be playing Tweedledee and Tweedledum in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010.

I'm not sure who this is but they have Alice in Wonderland stamps of the Sir John Tenniel sort.

A nice sketch of Alice about to meet the Queen of Hearts.
