Fast Week is Really Slow

Fast Week is really slow. Or is it? Things seem to be really slow. It's probably the holidays. What we have here is kind of old news, but I've been saving it for just this kind of event. That is, no event at all. Happy noevent! This here is a page of awesome photos from a Tim Burton inspired photoshoot that appeared in Vogue Korea.

On the Alice 2010 OPI Nail Polish front, this person here was disappointed with the color range and made her own "Frankenstein" Cheshire Cat nail color.

More Alice 2010 Inspired Jewelry

Just yesterday I published a preview of some interesting jewelry that is Alice in Wonderland inspired and to go with Tim Burton's movie in 2010. Here is more. This item is from Tom Binns. Of course, something like this is going to be ridiculously expensive. On the plus side, there will be more reasonably priced items available.

If I don't talk to you before then, have a Happy Holiday!

Alice 2010 Jewelry

Disney announced that there would be designers coming out with clothes and jewelry to go with Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and here are some examples courtesy of Swarovski

You may or may not be aware that the original book that Lewis Carroll gave to Alice Liddell was up for auction. It sold to the highest bidder for US $115,000. Wow!

Alice in Wonderland Collectors Medicom Action Figures

We have here the first "toys" I've seen attached to Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010. What we have here is figures of Alice (Mia Wasikowska) and the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). (Wow, I can finally spell Wasikowska without look it up. That took longer than I expected.) As you can see, it looks like we've got two different versions of the Hatter available. There's the $20 version and the $170 version. Alas, these are expected in July 2010, but can be pre-ordered now.

Recovering from Too Mush Alice

If it's possible, I've had too much Alice recently and found that I had to take a break. The good news is that there is a backlog of great stuff.

Recently, artist and designer John Coulthart released a calendar of psychedelic Alice in Wonderland art. Now he's got a very cool poster.

Who here caught the SyFy Channel miniseries of Alice in Wonderland? I thought so. Here's one, two and three reviews and information from the Tor Books blog, which I like. The last article is more of an examination of the "spy-fi" look of the miniseries.

Last, here is a post of Alice fan art.

Syfy's Alice is Coming this Week

This Sunday, December 6 comes the release of the SyFy Channel's Alice in Wonderland. I don't know how I missed this, but here is the official site with wallpapers, movies, and blurbs on the cast.

Here is an interview with Caterina Scorsone and Nick Willing about the show.

Interview with Costume Designer for Tim Burton's Alice

Today we have an interview with Costume Designer Colleen Atwood, who has worked with Tim Burton quite a few times and who designed the costumes for Alice in Wonderland 2010.

This is a little bit of a repost, but here are some awesome Alice in Wonderland illustrated editions which would make great holiday gifts.

Limited edition from 2005 Illustrated by artist Anne Bachelier

This 2003 Edition illustrated by Iassen Ghiuselev.

A recently published edition with the Rackham illustrations from the 1907 edition.

Martin Gardner's Annotated Alice - The Definitive Edition.

The amazingly cool Ralph Steadman (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) illustrated edition.

 Robert Sabuda's fabulous Pop-Up Adaptation.

Final Piece of Tim Burton's Alice 2010 Poster

Disney has released the third and final piece of the Alice in Wonderland poster. This one with Johnny Depp (as the Mad Hatter) and Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar. I was reading somewhere that the movie is only four months away, which it is!

Disney also released an eye-strain-o-vision tiny version of the three posters stitched together. Of course, I got out my construction paper and scissors and did it up right. So, here it is, an Alice 2010 exclusive! The whole poster.

Happy Birthday Anne Hathaway

Today is Anne Hathaway's birthday. As you no doubt know by now, she is playing the White Queen in the upcoming Tim Burton movie, Alice in Wonderland 2010. I personally think she's a great choice and am looking forward to seeing her in it. I've really only seen her in maybe two movies. I thought she was very good in Get Smart. Here is her IMDB page.

New to Me Interview with Mia Wasikowska about Alice

Relatively meaningless interview with Mia Wasikowska from Collider.com. From the contents of the interview, this must have happened a long time ago, because she mentions that she doesn't know what she'll be working on next.

New 2010 Images and Mad Hatter Action for Alice

Wow, I'm getting to post real news about Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland 2010.

First and foremost, a magazine scan has appeared on the Internet which is about Alice 2010 and has photos of some of the characters. The interesting thing about this scan is that the Caterpillar is pictured. The Caterpillar will be played by Alan Rickman. Here's another photos for you.

Another thing about this photo is that the White Queen looks kind of different from how she's looked in other press items...

MEANWHILE: the Mad Hatter Facebook page has new info, mostly having to do with the image above. Looks like once again a leak has preceded a Disney release. Maybe they're leaking these things on purpose.

Correction on McGee's Return Trailer and News on the Soundtrack

First off, on Monday, I posted a trailer that was purported to be the new American McGee's Alice Returns trailer. American McGee posted on his blog that this is not the case. Sorry about that everyone. At the very least, I think American McGee's should check into hiring the guy who created it. He did a good job!

Next, a band named "All Time Low" will be supplying a track on the Alice 2010 Soundtrack. Anybody know anything about them?

Here's a screen grab from a cool iPhone game called Alice in Bomberland. From the previews I've seen, it looks pretty cool. Official site is here.

Very Cool Costumes and Photoshot of Alice

These are very cool photos of a Mad Tea Party in the woods. I love Alice in Wonderland photoshoots, and this one is a little more traditional than some of the others I've covered before. At the very least you should check them out to see the Tweedledee and Tweedledum costumes. Very awesome. Check it out here: Mogsterr on Flickr.

Woo Hoo! New Trailer for American McGee's Alice

Check it out. A new trailer for American McGee's Alice in Wonderland video game. I thought that it would be coming out in 2010, but now it looks like it's coming out in 2011? At any rate, enjoy the trailer. I hope the graphics on the game are this good. Alice looks really creepy! Cheshire cat is looking rather smashing as well. Via.

Extended Trailer for Alice in Wonderland 2010

Looks like there's a new trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (a.k.a. Alice 2010.) This comes our way via Spike. Supposedly there is new content, but all I've managed to identify as new is a profile view of Johnny Depp. It also appears that the order of things has been shuffled. Curiouser and Curiouser. Here it is!

Fun French Photo Shoot

Not much info about this photo shoot except that it was done in a famous French abbey near Paris, and it has to do with Alice in Wonderland (natch). I was just in Paris a few weeks ago and it was AMAZING.

Lots of New Alice Gear and Art

It's really amazing when I can report something relevant to the Tim Burton move, Alice 2010, and today I have something to report. Not that I'm excited. It's a little hard to get very excited about nail polish. A while back I reported here that Disney is working with designers and manufacturers to come out with a slew of Alice in Wonderland 2010 related products. It looks like the first of the bunch will be OPI nail polish. OPI Nail Polish on Amazon Via.

Not related to the Tim Burton film - well KIND OF not related. Seeing as how 2010 will be the year of Alice. Mezco is accepting pre-orders for some Living Dead Dolls In Wonderland toys. Click here for Mezco Toys on Amazon.

Much More Alice Than You Can Shake a Stick At

It's getting so you can't throw a rock without hitting something related to Alice in Wonderland, probably thanks in part to Alice 2010 and Tim Burton. Trendhunter Magazine has noticed this phenomenon and posted a list of "60 Alice in Wonderland Fantasies - From Surreal Fairytale Photography to Mini Mad Hatter Hats." Check it out here. Too bad it's so hard to navigate the site. It's like Tumblr but a million times more annoyingly hard to find your way to the original. I'm partial to the Steam Society crown fascinator pictured here. Such a cool photo!

To be honest, I don't know how this fits in with the theme of this site, but here it is: How to be Lucky.

As could be expected, there are more Alice papercrafts. Woo Hoo! These papercraft Alice in Wonderland characters by Alex McMenemy are pretty cool!

Furniture Down the Rabbit Hole

More Alice in Wonderland inspired decor. I don't think I've seen much furniture that says Alice in Wonderland quite as much as these by Aqua Creations.

I'm especially enamored of the "Tut Chair", which is the more conventional grey chair with the graceful animal-like legs.

There aren't any places near me to buy them. Maybe I will drown my sorrows in an English Garden Bombe Chest.
